Practice

What we resource.

Circles are only as strong as the people keeping them. The Fund pays, trains, and equips keepers, and because resourcing keepers is also educating the public, everything here is open to anyone who wants to learn how communities hold harm.

Keeper stipends

Direct support for un- and underfunded circle keeping

Most circle keeping in this country is unpaid or underpaid: held after work, between shifts, on top of everything else. Keeper stipends are direct payments to circle keepers doing otherwise un- or underfunded work, so the people holding circles can afford to keep holding them.

This is the Fund's first funding priority. Stipends will be modest, transparent, and tied to real circles being held, with the emotional and logistical labor of keeping counted as work.

The field of practices

Seven families of community-held practice

What do we do instead? The field of practices is the long answer: seven families, from safety planning through accompaniment, affinity, dialogue, and integration to visionary work, with the practices in each named plainly. It's the map keepers draw on and the map communities can use to see what's possible.

We Begin

A community justice curriculum

We Begin is a curriculum for communities learning to respond to harm without punishment, organized around the seven practice families. It's being expanded into print, web, and presentation materials for listening circles, learning spaces, and keeper training.

Feelings & Needs

A free tool for finding the word

Find the word for how you feel, and see what you might need. A simple, free tool built on the work of Marshall B. Rosenberg and the Center for Nonviolent Communication, made for the moments in and around circles when language is hard to reach. No account, no tracking, nothing sold.

Training & mentorship

Supervision and company for the people holding this work

Circle keepers are not neutral facilitators. They are grounded, attuned, and in ongoing relationship with the people and communities they serve, and that takes training, supervision, and company. The Fund offers mentorship and community among keepers across the South and beyond, and welcomes potential keepers: survivors, healers, organizers, facilitators, clinicians, and community members with lived experience and deep care.

What the money does

Four things the Fund pays for.

Circles

Convening and supporting facilitated circles for those impacted by sexual harm: harmed parties, those who caused harm, loved ones, and community members.

Keepers

Stipends, training, and supervision for those holding this work.

Access

Participation is always free. ASL interpretation, tech access, transportation stipends, child care, and microgrants so that circles are truly available to those who need them.

Learning

Entry points for communities longing to respond to harm without punishment: listening circles, learning spaces, curriculum, and tools, shared freely.

We share tools, reflections, mistakes, and insights so that others can adapt, remix, and grow this work in ways that serve their communities.
